Definition

Technical SEO

Rendering is the process of executing a page's HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to produce the visual content users see. Search engines render pages to understand JavaScript-loaded content. Google uses a two-wave indexing process where JavaScript is rendered in a second pass, which can delay indexing of JS-dependent content.

Why it matters

If content requires JavaScript to render, search engines may not see it during the initial crawl, potentially delaying or preventing indexation.
